That it not be later than March
La Nacion
February 16, 2010

Minister Boudou went back to put in doubt the date of the launch of the debt swap. "We hope that it will not be later than March," he said. In reality, the original plan for the government was to do the operation with the holdouts at the end of last year, together with the emission of a new bond. Then came the conflict for the use of the reserves of the BCRA and, ultimately, added to it all was the tremor of the Europe crisis. In any case, the Economy Ministry says that the swap is moving ahead and that the minister worked over the weekend with the Finance Secretariat, led by Hernan Lorenzino, to response to the regulatory authorities abroad.
