Letter from the creditors to Hillary
Clarin
March 02, 2010

The vulture funds are not relaxing. The intense lobby that is being done in the United States Congress is bringing results. On the eve of the meeting between Hillary and Cristina, they managed to get one of the heavyweights of the House International Relations Committee, Rep. Russ Carnahan, to write a letter to the Secretary of State asking that she urge the Argentine president to "negotiate in good faith with her U.S. creditors."

Carnahan recalled to Hillary in his letter that "Argentina has taken steps to reopend the swap by overturning the locked-shut law. But unfortunately the terms of the new offer are worse than in 2005." Carnahan's letter added strength to what 17 Congressmen are doing for the House to approve a law that would prohibit Argentina from entering the U.S. markets if it doesn't first pay its pending debts.
