Argentina's government plan to raise the minimum threshold for personal income taxes in a bid to increase workers' purchasing power and help the economy sustain its expansion, newspaper El Cronista reported.

The changes will reduce the tax revenue by 1.5 billion pesos ($497 million), the newspaper reported, without saying how it obtained the information.

The measure will be announced in coming days, El Cronista said.
